Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – News
Paramount Skydance plans to initiate large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August valued at $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are likely, as the firm planning to announce full details via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Prior news stated the company aimed to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
By December 2024, Paramount employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 contract workers.
The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
